ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

SUNDERLAND

Shift Pattern: 2 shifts - Week 1: 07:00-19:00 / Week 2: 19:00-07:00 (Rotating)

Salary: Up to £42,000

We are seeking a motivated engineer to join a leading manufacturing company within the FMCG industry. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the production facility. Your responsibilities will include both planned and reactive maintenance across various systems. The company offers ongoing training and development to enhance employee skills and is supported by a welcoming team of engineers. This role is ideal for a strong engineer seeking a challenging opportunity within a secure and stable environment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Multi-skilled maintenance with an electrical bias
  • Hydraulics & pneumatics
  • Continuous improvement initiatives
  • PLC-controlled machinery (Siemens S7 & Allen Bradley)
  • Planned and reactive maintenance
  • Robotic systems (Kuka & Fanuc)
  • Bottling, filling, canning, seaming, and labelling lines
Skills and Qualifications
  • HND/HNC qualification
  • Minimum 3 years FMCG industry experience
  • 18th Edition wiring regulation (desirable)
  • Lean manufacturing experience (desirable)
  • City & Guilds inspection & testing (desirable)
  • PLC qualifications (highly advantageous)
