Engineering Technician - Wincanton (Britvic Contract)

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to join our team on the Britvic contract. You will work with automated machinery in our pallet storage warehouse, ensuring smooth operation and minimal equipment failures that could impact customer demand.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Site Technician to advance their career with Wincanton.

Contract Details:

  • 42.5 hours per week, averaged over 17 weeks
  • Shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am)
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x
  • Salary up to £45,000
Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules on time and to a high standard.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance with a first-time fix approach.
  • Manage spares inventory and ensure correct asset booking.
  • Coordinate with Operations/Shift Managers to complete maintenance tasks within deadlines.
  • Identify, rectify, and monitor faults to optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain high customer service levels for equipment maintenance.
  • Work safely and calmly under pressure, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Follow company quality, health & safety policies, and statutory obligations.
  • Contribute to the Engineering Safe System of Working procedures and risk assessments.
  • Work at heights of 30 meters, including climbing ladders with safety harnesses.
  • Support business projects and site facilities management.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Completed an indentured apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or equivalent training; certificates required.
  • HNC, ONC, BTEC, C&G level qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC preferred; Profibus and ASI Bus knowledge advantageous.
  • Innovative, flexible, analytical, and a team player capable of building strong relationships.
  • Proficient in computer systems and control systems operation.
  • Experience with High Bay Automated Warehousing Automation or similar.
  • Understanding of broader site activities and systems.
  • Previous warehouse experience with electrical, mechanical, and computer hardware knowledge.
