Engineering Technician

Portsmouth

Monday to Friday - Early Finishes On A Friday!!

£30,000 - £31,000

Wild Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client who are seeking a Technically minded Engineering Technician to support the design, testing, and maintenance of equipment, systems, and processes. Working closely with the Senior Engineer and production teams, you’ll apply practical skills and problem-solving abilities to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement across projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the assembly, testing, and commissioning of mechanical & electrical systems

  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance on equipment and machinery

  • Support the Engineering Manager with training of operatives

  • Programme machines to CAD & other technical drawings
  • Carry out inspections and diagnostics to identify faults or improvements

  • Maintain accurate records of tests, repairs, and calibrations

  • Comply with health and safety regulations and ensure safe working practices

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving ideas

Requirements
  • Relevant technical qualification

  • Proven hands-on experience in a technical or engineering environment

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, hand/power tools, and technical schematics

  • Strong analytical and fault-finding skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team

  • Good communication and documentation skills

  • Knowledge of PLCs, CAD systems, or CMMS software
