Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Beetroot team in March.

The Engineering Technician plays a key role in diagnosing and resolving complex engineering issues within the beetroot packing and production factory. The focus is on root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions to eliminate recurring faults, improve processes, and drive engineering excellence. While addressing immediate technical problems as needed, the primary goal is to elevate engineering standards, improve reliability, and embed best practices in maintenance and continuous improvement.

Role Includes:
  • Fault finding & root cause analysis
  • Deep-dive investigations into technical faults with lasting, effective solutions
  • Advanced problem-solving for complex production challenges
  • Documentation of diagnostics and corrective actions
  • Upskilling initiatives to empower teams with problem-solving capabilities
Upskilling and Support of Existing Team:
  • Mentoring and hands-on training for engineering operatives
  • Empowering production teams with equipment knowledge and preventative maintenance skills
  • Workshops on fault prevention, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
Process Improvement & Engineering Excellence:
  • Evaluating workflows for efficiency and reliability gains
  • Leading engineering changes with minimal disruption
  • Collaborating across teams to align improvements with strategic goals
Operational Engineering Expertise:
  • Serving as a trusted technical partner for engineering challenges
  • Owning key engineering projects from diagnosis to delivery
  • Staying updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices
We Are Looking For:
  • A strong background in mechanical or industrial engineering, preferably with experience in food packaging or similar industries
  • A proven track record in fault finding, root cause analysis, and process improvements
  • Experience mentoring and upskilling engineers
  • Knowledge of operational engineering practices and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar tools is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; certifications in Continuous Improvement methodologies are advantageous
