Shift Maintenance Engineer (Multiskilled)

Location: Batley, Kirklees, West Yorkshire

• Salary: £50,400 -£59,900 (inclusive of shift allowance) dependent on experience
• Performance related company bonus
• Shifts: 12 hours, 7-7, 2 days 2 nights (5 off), 2 days 3 nights (4 off), 3 days 2 nights (5 off), with rotation
• Permanent position

Our Mars Petcare factory offers an opportunity to join our dynamic team, focusing on machine maintenance for specialized equipment including flow wrapping, robotics, and packaging machinery.

Work as part of a four-person team under the guidance of the Engineering Team Leader to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on production lines, and take ownership of designated areas, driving continuous improvement through digital analysis.

What are we looking for?

• Solid foundation in engineering, built through a recognized apprenticeship
• HNC in electrical engineering and mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of 415v distribution, motor control, PLC software, process control, level 2 systems & networks; pneumatics & hydraulics is a plus
• Understanding of electromechanical devices
• Knowledge of H&S regulations
• Computer literacy, familiar with Atlas PM, SAP, Microsoft
• FMCG experience desirable
• Experience with Rockwell PLC fault diagnosis

Key Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis and resolution of machinery failures
• Escalate technical issues appropriately
• Provide technical expertise to team members
• Ensure safe delivery of services (steam, air, water, gas, electricity)
• Plan maintenance activities for smooth operations
