Job summary

A leading apprenticeship provider is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their team in Deeside. The successful candidate will repair and overhaul electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with all standards. Applicants should have a Level 4 qualification and relevant practical engineering experience. This role requires strong supervisory skills and a commitment to engineering governance.

Qualifications

  • Holds relevant Level 4 qualification or equivalent.
  • Practical engineering experience in specified roles.
  • Willingness to undergo security vetting.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and overhaul electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Perform self-directed testing, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Supervise and train junior staff and apprentices.

Engineering Technician

6 Months

Deeside

As a Engineering Technician your roles include the repair and overhaul of Electronic and Electro-mechanical equipment in a timely and efficient manner whilst complying with legislative and organisational standards.


The role will cover at least 1 of the following: -


Avionics systems.
Maritime systems
Communications Systems
Navigation Systems
Weapons systems
Cable and Test Box manufacture

Perform self-directed Test; Diagnostics; Repair; Maintenance; Modification; Calibration and Manufacture of Equipment down to module / individual Component level using approved Engineering Documentation and techniques.
Hold Self-Certification; Over-Signing; Certifying & Conditioning of Equipment Responsibilities ( for example: Serviceable / Unserviceable / Scrap).
Supervision; Training and Over-Signing of Junior / Equivalent grade Staff & Apprentices.
Carry out Feasibility and Development activity, including the Reverse Engineering and Creation of supporting engineering documentation / Test Procedures.

Use a combination of different IT software.
Provide Specialist Advice as required.
Work within a scheme of Engineering Governance and comply with all Policy and Legislation

Person:


Holds relevant: Level 4 qualification and advanced/higher apprenticeship; or Level 3 qualification, a nationally recognised Electrical/Electronic engineering apprenticeship or Military equivalent.
Practical engineering experience in one or more of the roles listed.

Already living in or commutable to Deeside.
