Hours: Hybrid - 2 days on-site

Seeking a 2nd line support technical engineer to step into an exciting role at an interesting company.

Role Summary:

  • This department is in charge of coming up with cool engineering solutions, both strategic and tactical, to handle tricky operational problems and stay on top of all those tech challenges related to serious and organized crime in the UK.
  • They're the ones who bring out the big guns, helping out with live operations and giving the tools they need for 21st-century law enforcement.

On top of all that, the support team is the go-to crew when it comes to dreaming up, designing, building, rolling out, and keeping up with the new tech gear that this company needs.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Installation, upgrading, and support of technical hardware, operating systems, software, and peripherals.
  • Train user(s) on the usage of applications and technical systems as required.
  • Conduct application support - (Bug Fixing) to include investigation and analysis of application issues, replicate issues on test systems, and investigate database and/or code to identify faults and produce/test proposed solutions.
  • Maintenance (Upgrades): Maintain currency with technological advancements and user requirements update, repair, modify, and expand existing applications as per user requests.
  • Prepare and draft documentation to include User requirements, Application Design, SRDs, RFCs, and User manuals.

Skills & Experience:

  • A very good understanding of Windows Operating systems
  • A good working knowledge of computer networks TCP/IP and Internet connectivity
  • A good knowledge of Virtual Server environments VMWARE, Physical Servers, installation and configuration
