Job Title: Engineering Technical Lead – BIM & Digital Design
Location: Falmer (Hybrid Working 2–3days a week in the office)

We are is looking for an experienced and forward–thinking Engineering Technical Lead – BIM & Digital Design to join our Engineering team. In this strategic role, you'll shape and lead our digital engineering strategy, champion innovation, and drive the adoption of digital design practices across the business. You will be the technical authority for BIM, CAD, and Information Management, ensuring our tools and processes are aligned with industry best practices and future–ready.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership

Lead the development and implementation of digital design tools and standards.
Act as the key interface between Engineering and our Digital team.
Manage relationships with software vendors and ensure tool compatibility across the supply chain.
Represent us at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
Stakeholder Engagement

Facilitate seamless digital information exchange with internal teams and external partners.
Collaborate with design consultants, contractors, and delivery partners to ensure alignment on digital standards and tools.
Innovation & Strategy

Drive continuous improvement in digital design processes, policies, and specifications.
Identify opportunities for innovation and lead the adoption of new digital initiatives.
Challenge existing practices to enhance efficiency and technical delivery.
Financial & Commercial Oversight

Manage software licensing and procurement in collaboration with IT.
Develop business cases for new digital tools and upgrades.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions and stakeholder negotiations.
Team Leadership

Lead and develop the Information Management team within Engineering.
Build internal capability in BIM, CAD, and digital design practices.
About You
You bring a strong technical foundation in digital design and a collaborative mindset. You're comfortable navigating complex systems and communicating across technical and non–technical audiences.

Qualifications
Essential:

MEng/BEng/BSc or HND/HNC in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related numerate discipline.
Desirable:

Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional institution.
Recognised subject matter expertise in digital design within engineering.
Experience managing BIM processes in the utilities or construction sectors.
