Shift Pattern : 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights)

Salary : £50,000

Our client, a leading FMCG manufacturer near Rugby, is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join their high-performance maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer with leadership experience who is looking to step into a key role within a fast‑paced, fully automated environment.

About the Role

As Engineering Team Leader, you will oversee a small team of multi‑skilled engineers, ensuring the safe and efficient running of all production and packaging equipment. You will support the Maintenance Manager in driving engineering standards, improving reliability, and promoting a proactive maintenance culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of site engineers.
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.
  • Ensure engineering tasks are carried out safely, effectively, and in line with site standards.
  • Support continuous improvement, reliability projects, and root cause analysis.
  • Report engineering performance and issues to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Foster strong communication between production and engineering teams.
Requirements
  • Apprentice‑trained engineer (mechanical or electrical).
  • Proven supervisory or team‑lead experience within an industrial environment.
  • Background in FMCG, food production, or automated distribution is essential.
  • Strong technical fault‑finding skills and a hands‑on approach.
