Engineering Team Leader - Boston, Lincolnshire
4-on-4-off (days & nights) Food Manufacturing Competitive Salary + OT

I'm working with a well-established food manufacturer in the Boston area to recruit a hands-on Engineering Team Leader. This role will lead a team of multi-skilled engineers on shift, taking responsibility for safety, breakdown response, PM delivery, and driving OEE and CI improvements across fast-paced, automated production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support engineers during breakdowns and planned maintenance

Maintain strict H&S and food safety standards (LOTO, risk assessments, statutory checks)

Ensure PMs are completed on time and logged via the CMMS

Deliver effective digital shift handovers and performance reporting

Mentor apprentices and junior team members, fostering a positive, high-performing culture

Support root cause analysis and CI projects across engineering and production

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

3+ years in food or FMCG manufacturing

Strong leadership and technical skills, including PLC fault-finding

Solid understanding of compliance frameworks (PUWER, LOLER, 18th Edition, etc.)

Desirable:

ILM, Six Sigma or other CI/leadership training

Experience with Lean tools (5S, SMED, RCA)

Familiarity with steam, pneumatics, and process systems
