The Role
As Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers during your shift, ensuring high performance, safety, and maintenance of production assets in a 24/7 operation. You'll act as the first point of contact for technical issues, while also supporting continuous improvement and digital maintenance initiatives.

- Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate shift-based engineering activities, allocating work and setting daily priorities.
- Respond to and resolve complex breakdowns, working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Mentor and develop team members, including apprentices and new starters.
- Ensure scheduled preventative maintenance is completed effectively and challenge current methods where improvements are identified.
- Drive best practice in Health & Safety and Food Safety, leading by example in all aspects of compliance.
- Use data (OEE, downtime trends, MTTR, etc.) to influence decisions and support long-term reliability improvements.
- Champion the use of digital systems (e.g., MaintainX) for maintenance reporting, SOPs and asset tracking.
- Electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer (ideally 60/40 electrical/mechanical).
- Qualified to at least Level 3 in Engineering (electrical preferred).
- Previous experience in a leadership or senior engineering role within a manufacturing environment (FMCG or food production highly desirable).
- Confident in mentoring others and managing shift workloads.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
- Ambitious, hands-on, and motivated to step up into a future Engineering Manager position.

Hours: 4 on, 4 off (alternating days & nights, 7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00)
Salary: £55,000 + Contributory Pension (3%) + 22.5 Days Holiday
