Hybrid role based in Leeds, with 2 days per week in the office.

We’re hiring for a Mobile Engineering Manager to lead an established Android team within a large, customer-focused digital banking initiative. This team is building a greenfield digital experience tailored to a growing segment of affluent customers with investable assets.

This is a great opportunity for someone who’s not only technically strong in Android/Kotlin development but also passionate about leading and growing a team of engineers, driving delivery, and shaping the future of digital banking.

About the Role:

You’ll lead a cross-functional mobile feature team made up of Android, API, and QA engineers. Your focus will be engineering excellence, delivery predictability, and a first-class mobile experience. You’ll collaborate closely with product, architecture, and design teams to bring digital journeys to life.

What You’ll Need:

• Experience in leading Android/mobile engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with deep architectural knowledge (MVP/MVVM/MVI, SOLID, etc.).
• A strong background in CI/CD, automated testing, and modern development practices.
• Experience working closely with Product and Design.
• Comfortable remaining hands-on.

Nice-to-haves:

• Familiarity with native/JS bridging, push notifications, app security, performance monitoring tools.
• Background in cloud-native architecture and microservices.
• Work on a high-impact digital product in an established, well-funded organisation.
