Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting an Engineering Team Leader for a Bristol-based manufacturing business. You will lead a team of engineers on shift, oversee planned maintenance and drive continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability and production output.

You'll be stepping into a leadership role, mentoring engineers, ensuring safety and compliance, and working closely with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to improve site performance and delivery on your shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing.
• Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above).
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers on shift.
• Coordinate and oversee planned preventive maintenance activities.
• Support rapid response to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
• Ensure engineering standards, safety and compliance are maintained.
• Collaborate with Maintenance & Engineering Manager to improve site performance.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights)
Salary: Up to £57,500 (£75k+ earning potential)

I'm currently working with a leading manufacturing business in Bristol that is looking to appoint an Engineering Team Leader to support the continued development of their engineering function.

This opportunity would suit either an experienced Engineering Team Leader or a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step into leadership. You'll lead a team of engineers on shift, ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the day-to-day delivery of engineering performance.

The Role:

• Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 5 engineers
• Coordinate and oversee planned preventative maintenance activities
• Support rapid response to breakdowns and minimise production downtime
• Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
• Ensure engineering standards, safety and compliance are maintained
• Work closely with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to improve site performance

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment
• Engineering qualification (Level 2 or above)
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising engineers
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Positive, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing experience highly desirable
