Job summary

Proactive Global in the Nottingham area is recruiting an Engineering Support Operative to maintain system flow by addressing equipment issues, performing basic maintenance and escalating complex faults to the engineering team. The role requires hands-on maintenance experience in automated equipment, fault finding, and familiarity with WMS/CMMS systems, plus strong teamwork and good English communication.

It is a permanent, on-site position offering a £29,200 base salary plus 24% shift allowance

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, maintenance or automated environments.
• Ideally 2 years in a similar industry.
• Fault finding and basic equipment maintenance.
• Understanding of automated equipment and maintaining system/product flow.
• Understanding of WMS and CMMS systems.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Ability to work at height.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive problem solving and willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Good spoken and written English.

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance checks on automated equipment.
• Acting as the first point of contact when faults occur.
• Identifying system faults, blockages and performance issues.
• Carrying out basic reactive and preventative repairs.
• Supporting continuous product flow and minimising downtime.
• Rectifying product and process-related issues.
• Supporting equipment hygiene and housekeeping requirements.
• Identifying and communicating continuous improvement opportunities.
• Following Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Working with the wider engineering team to resolve faults efficiently.

Engineering Support Operative

Location: Near Nottingham

Salary: £29,200 basic + 24% shift allowance = £36,208 per annum

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Support Operative to join a permanent team in the Nottingham area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in maintenance, engineering support, automated equipment or a similar operational environment, looking to develop their career within a technology-led engineering environment.

The Role

As an Engineering Support Operative, you will help maintain system flow by responding quickly to equipment issues, carrying out basic maintenance and repairs, and escalating more complex faults to the engineering team.

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance checks on automated equipment.


• Acting as the first point of contact when faults or errors occur.


• Identifying system faults, blockages and performance issues.


• Carrying out basic reactive and preventative repairs.


• Supporting continuous product flow and minimising downtime.


• Rectifying product and process-related issues.


• Supporting equipment hygiene and housekeeping requirements.

• Following all Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.


• Reporting accidents, incidents and near misses.


• Working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure faults are communicated and resolved efficiently.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in an engineering, maintenance, automated or similar environment.


• Ideally 2 years' experience in a similar industry/environment.


• Experience with fault finding and basic equipment maintenance.


• An understanding of automated equipment and maintaining system/product flow.


• Understanding of WMS and CMMS systems.


• A good understanding of workplace Health & Safety.


• Competence working at height.


• Good communication and teamwork skills.


• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.


• Flexibility and willingness to learn.


• Competence using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.


• Good spoken and written English.
