Job summary

CV Technical Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor in Hull to lead and develop the engineering and maintenance team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will ensure machinery and facilities operate safely and efficiently, reporting to senior management with support from an off-site Engineering Manager.

The role focuses on hands-on leadership, overseeing PM schedules, improving reliability, and coordinating with Production to reduce downtime.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Engineering and Maintenance team.
• Carry out and oversee planned and reactive maintenance.
• Manage the planned preventive maintenance schedule.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Coordinate engineering workloads, staff rotas and maintenance schedules.
• Manage engineering spares, stock levels and critical components.
• Oversee contractors, permits to work and external engineering activities.
• Manage building and facilities maintenance.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify improvements.
• Work with Production to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.
• Train and mentor apprentices and new team members.
• Drive improvements in maintenance, reliability and costs.

Location: Hull Salary: £50,000 per annum, negotiable at interview Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:00, with overtime as required Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a well-established food manufacturing business supplying major UK foodservice and retail customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional to lead and develop an engineering and maintenance team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Reporting to the senior management team, with support from an off-site Engineering Manager, you will ensure machinery, equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Good understanding of Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG would be advantageous.

Salary and Benefits

• £50,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
