Job summary

Nexus Careers Group is recruiting an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a leading global facilities management business at a prestigious commercial property in Central London.

You will oversee day-to-day mechanical and electrical maintenance, coordinate engineers and contractors, ensure compliance and safety, and develop the engineering team toward management roles.

Qualifications

• Experience as Engineering Supervisor or Lead Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of building-services electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in commercial offices or facilities environments.
• Qualified in electrical, mechanical or building-services engineering.
• Solid understanding of planned maintenance and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of the site engineering team.
• Coordinate planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Ensure work is completed in line with site procedures and service-level requirements.
• Support fault-finding across electrical and mechanical building-services systems.
• Allocate work and monitor engineer performance and completion standards.
• Review maintenance records, logbooks and compliance documentation.
• Supervise subcontractors and specialist service providers.
• Ensure permits, risk assessments and method statements are properly controlled.
• Support statutory inspections, audits and compliance activity.
• Liaise with the client, occupiers and facilities management team.
• Escalate technical, safety and operational risks appropriately.
• Assist with quotations, lifecycle planning and minor works.
• Identify improvements to building performance and maintenance delivery.
• Support the training and development of engineers.
• Deputise for site management when required.

Engineering Supervisor - Commercial Building

Location: Central London, near Regent Street

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Nexus Careers Group is recruiting an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join a leading global facilities management business at a prestigious commercial property in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong multi-skilled engineer who is ready to take greater responsibility for site operations, engineering standards and team performance.

The role offers a clear route into facilities or engineering management, making it particularly well suited to someone who wants to develop beyond a purely technical position.

The Role

You will support the day-to-day delivery of mechanical and electrical maintenance across the building, ensuring planned and reactive works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Working closely with the site management team, you will coordinate engineers and contractors, monitor statutory compliance and act as the primary technical point of contact for operational issues.

Although supervisory in nature, this is a hands-on position, and you will be expected to support fault-finding, maintenance and technical problem-solving when required.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as an Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer or Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer.
• Strong mechanical and electrical building-services knowledge.
• Experience working within a commercial office, corporate estate or similar facilities environment.
• Recognised qualification in electrical, mechanical or building-services engineering.
• Good understanding of planned maintenance and statutory compliance.
• Confident supervising engineers, contractors and technical works.Comfortable dealing directly with clients and building stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organisation and reporting skills.
• Able to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Candidates from either an electrical or mechanical background will be considered, provided they have strong multi-skilled experience and the ability to supervise wider building-services activity.
