Job summary

COWI is offering a Summer Internship (Mechanical) in Glasgow to current engineering students. You will work in the M&E division, supporting engineers on ongoing projects and learning from our team in a global consultancy.

The role involves assisting with mechanical design work, shadowing engineers, and applying core engineering fundamentals to real projects. The program includes opportunities for professional development and a pathway to further opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of 2 years in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• Creative and technical thinking.
• Evidence of research and information gathering skills.
• Interest in Infrastructure or Energy market.

Responsibilities

To give current students a taste of a career in Engineering, we are looking for a Summer Intern to join us M&E division in the UK. Working on our current projects, you'll have the opportunity to support the team and learn from our Engineers on the day-to-day operations within a consultancy office.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Assist with the preparation of mechanical design calculations, schematics, and layouts.
• Shadow engineers during coordination with clients, contractors, and other disciplines (e.g. mechanical, structural, architecture)
• Use your academic knowledge of the engineering fundamentals to contribute to our projects.
• Gain valuable experience in a global consultancy .

• Completed a minimum of 2 years in either a bachelor's or master's degree, either in Mechanical Engineering or a similar related subject (BEng, BSc, Meng, MSc)
• Good problem-solving skills
• Creative and technical thinking
• The ability to demonstrate evidence of research and information gathering skills
• An interest in engineering within the Infrastructure or Energy market
