Role Description: Reporting to the Engineering Stores Manager, this role supports the efficient and cost-effective operation of Engineering Stores to meet the site’s requirements. Responsibilities include working with preferred suppliers, adhering to store processes and inventory controls, and supporting the achievement of operational efficiency and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety, quality, and hygiene standards are met.
  • Ensure purchased items comply with legislative and ethical standards.
  • Promote a culture of safe behavior and contractor safety in the Stores areas.
  • Support continuous improvement in inventory management, stock accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage requisitioning, purchasing, stock put-away, issues, transfers, counts, and refurbishment processes.
  • Support obsolescence management, non-conformance rectification, OEM part control, and consumables and aged inventory processes.
  • Maintain stock levels, challenge stock requests, and optimize storage practices.
  • Monitor suppliers for cost, quality, and service excellence.
  • Complete documentation, conduct audits, and support training activities.
  • Contribute to lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage/Develop People: Train team members in SAP and store processes, uphold company values.

Technical Leadership: Provide technical support related to inventory and SAP systems, develop best practices, and enhance technical skills.

Communication: Collaborate with HR, H&S, technical, operations, logistics, and finance teams; communicate effectively with engineering for maintenance and operational priorities; attend relevant meetings.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience in engineering or logistics environments.
  • Solid understanding of SAP and other MS Office tools.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • FLT license, preferably for both FLT and Reach Truck.
