Job summary

Morepeople 01780 is recruiting an Engineering Stores / Stock Assistant on a 4 months fixed-term contract to reorganise and accurately record stock in the site’s engineering stores. You’ll count items, update Excel records and help maintain an orderly stores environment.

The role suits someone methodical with good numeracy, comfortable handling components and labels, and able to work with the Engineering team to identify parts. Some lifting up to 20kg is involved.

Qualifications

• Stock counting or inventory auditing.
• Experience with goods-in / receiving and warehouse processes.
• Ability to use Excel to record stock and quantities.
• Organised, reliable and accurate with high-volume components.

Responsibilities

• Unpacking, sorting and organising engineering spare parts
• Accurately counting stock and recording quantities
• Updating Excel spreadsheets or handwritten stock records
• Labelling and maintaining an organised stores environment
• Handling and moving stock boxes weighing up to 20kg
• Working with Engineering team to identify unfamiliar parts
