About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll remain ‘hands-on’ while leading a small shift maintenance team. You’ll be given the opportunity to develop your team, be involved in projects, and focus on improving plant performance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with Production Managers to identify and resolve issues to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting engineers in your team, proving guidance and advice while looking for any potential training needs.
  • Setting workloads and priorities while on shift and maintaining accurate records on the site’s CMMS.
  • Ensuring a focus on continuous improvement, addressing recurring issues and looking for new, more effective ways of working.

Shift Pattern: 4 on/off (2 days/nights)

About You

This role would suit somebody with experience of leading a team or an engineer looking for progression.

  • Qualified engineer, ideally apprentice trained, with a strong background in planned and reactive maintenance, ideally in Food or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Electrically biased with strong mechanical knowledge and experience.
  • Organised and adaptable, able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading, coaching or motivating engineering teams.
  • Confident communicator with contractor management experience.
