We are seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to join our manufacturing operation at Gadbrook Produce (Northwich).

The Engineering Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing site through various critical duties:

Responsibilities

1. Minimize Machinery Downtime: Proactively maintain equipment, respond swiftly to breakdowns, and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
2. Enhance Performance: Continuously seek process improvements, upgrades, and data-driven solutions to optimize equipment performance while maintaining quality.
3. Engage the Engineering Team: Foster a positive environment, provide training, and recognize achievements to motivate the team.
4. Asset Care Program: Lead strategies to maintain and extend asset lifespan, reduce costs, and adhere to best practices.
5. Hands-On Involvement: Participate directly in repairs and equipment optimization to set an example.
6. Coordinate Maintenance: Work with the maintenance team to plan and execute activities efficiently.
7. Manage Crisis Incidents: Handle accidents, near misses, and investigations to ensure safety.
8. Enforce Discipline: Uphold discipline and grievance procedures to maintain order within the team.

About You

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (e.g., ONC, BTEC in mechanical/electrical engineering)
• Proven experience in an FMCG engineering and fault-finding role, preferably in the food industry
• Experience in people management and delivering results through a team
• Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE qualification up to 18th edition wiring regulations is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Assertiveness and decision-making ability
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
