About the Role:

Following significant investment, new machinery and restructuring, we have some great opportunities to join a forward thinking business.

Our Client is seeking an Engineering Shift Leader who is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in engineering preventative maintenance, particularly within FMCG.

As the Engineering Shift Leader, you will lead and supervise your team of multi-skilled engineers while ensuring the smooth operation of your shift.

The ideal Engineering Shift Leader will lead by example and drive a culture of continuous improvement and motivate their engineering team to deliver sustainable reliability of equipment through proactive maintenance.

Taking ownership of the department whilst on shift, maintaining systems essential to the operation of an efficient engineering department.

You will work at a value-added food manufacturing site!

Shift Pattern - 2 Days, 2 Nights ON & 4 OFF (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00)

*It is not a kill site and has high levels of hygiene and health and safety.*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards.
  • Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard, meeting site requirements, and are available at all times.
  • Manage engineering stock control by accurately booking out and accounting for all parts used within required systems.
  • Coach and train team members to improve equipment knowledge and performance.
  • Take ownership of the department while on shift, ensuring systems and processes operate efficiently.

What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 17th Edition certified.
  • Strong fault-finding abilities and mechanical skills, with a good working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal departments and external contractors.
  • Experience working with food processing and packaging equipment is desirable, although training on specialist equipment can be provided for the right candidate.
