Our customer is a North American Construction & Real Estate business, operating globally and with an enviable portfolio of trophy assets they both own and deliver engineering and FM services for across the London region. Due to internal restructure, they seek a Mechanical-bias Engineering Services Manager to be based at one of their flagship multi-tenant towers in the City of London, to join a best-in-class team and support planned/reactive maintenance as well as some project delivery. This is a rare opportunity to work 'in-house', helping to manage a directly employed team of both shift and day M&E engineers, to deliver 5* services to plant, landlord & shared areas throughout the year. The building is home to a number of high-profile corporate tenants including financial services and legal firms, with good communication skills a vital tool for prospective candidates to possess. The guideline salary for this role is £83-88k for the right individual, along with attractive benefits which include an annual bonus, healthcare, pension scheme, paid OT, and a suite of other benefits.
Candidates must be fully qualified in mechanical engineering, ideally through a full apprenticeship, and with at least five years of engineering/technical management experience. This should have been served in a similar high-profile commercial environment such as a high-rise tower, banking/law firm HQ, etc. Along with core mechanical qualification, there should also be a demonstrable history of having served as an AP/SAP in Mechanical Systems, Pressurised Systems, Ventilation, etc.
Relevant working experience should include:
Some of the day-to-day duties would include:
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile building, directly for the owner, and close to a major transport hub enabling ease of commute. With an attractive salary, great benefits including a bonus scheme, paid OT as well as the chance for extensive training, this will suit a technically minded and dynamic engineering manager looking for the next step in their career. While 'in-house', with the organisation self-delivering engineering services, they prefer those with an M&E / FM Service Provider background, used to being among the engineers helping to fix issues, and as such a proactive nature is sought in the successful individual.
