Job summary

Danish Crown A/S is seeking an Engineering SAP Specialist to own engineering master data, automate maintenance planning, and govern SAP usage across the site. You will ensure data quality and compliance while acting as the SAP super-user for engineering and providing training to engineers and stakeholders.

Key activities include creating and maintaining BOMs, equipment locations, PM routines, and standard reporting to support CI, cost control, and continuous improvement in a food manufacturing

Qualifications

• Qualified in a technical or engineering field, preferred maintenance/engineering background.
• Hands-on experience with SAP for engineering maintenance data and PM creation.
• Experience in food manufacturing or regulated industrial environments is preferred.
• Strong data governance and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create, upload, and maintain engineering master data in SAP (BOMs, equipment, and functional locations).
• Own data accuracy and act as SAP gatekeeper for Engineering changes.
• Create and manage Planned Maintenance routines (task lists, maintenance plans, frequencies).
• Provide SAP guidance and training to engineers and stakeholders.
• Run SAP reports to support CI, cost control, and improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, CI and Finance.

Job description

The Engineering SAP Specialist is responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and governance of engineering master data and planned maintenance activities within SAP.

The role fully supports the Engineering Systems Planner, ensuring data quality, standardisation, and effective use of SAP to enable maintenance execution, engineering planning, cost control, and continuous improvement. The position acts as the SAP super‑user and gatekeeper for Engineering, driving compliance, training, and best practice usage across the engineering function.

The role works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Finance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, upload, and maintain all engineering-related master data in SAP, including:
• Engineering parts and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Equipment and functional locations (where applicable)
• Own data accuracy, structure, and compliance with agreed standards.
• Act as SAP gatekeeper for Engineering changes, ensuring controlled data creation and updates.

Planned Maintenance & Engineering Systems Support

• Create, upload, and manage Planned Maintenance routines in SAP (task lists, maintenance plans, frequencies).
• Ensure PM strategies align with engineering standards, reliability requirements, and CI objectives.
• Provide full cover for the Engineering Systems Planner during absence or holidays, ensuring continuity of planning and system support.
• Act as Engineering SAP super‑user, providing:
• Guidance on correct SAP usage and processes
• Train and coach engineers and relevant stakeholders in:
• Parts booking and reservation
• Correct information recording
• Planned maintenance execution and feedback
• Support discipline and consistency in SAP usage across the engineering team.
• Run standard and ad‑hoc SAP reports to support:
• Continuous improvement of parts booking accuracy
• Quality of maintenance feedback and failure coding
• Cost control and engineering performance insights
• Analyse SAP data to identify improvement opportunities and support CI initiatives.
• Work with Engineering and CI teams to improve data quality, processes, and system usage.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

• Work closely with:
• Engineering and Maintenance teams
• Operations, CI, and Finance stakeholders
• Support audits, reviews, and governance activities related to maintenance systems and data.
• Act as point of contact for SAP engineering system queries.

Required Education & Experience

Education

• Technical or engineering-related qualification preferred (Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing, or equivalent experience).

Professional Experience (Essential)

• Proven, hands‑on experience in a similar SAP Engineering / Maintenance Systems Specialist role.
• Strong practical experience using SAP for:
• Engineering parts and master data management
• Planned Maintenance creation and governance
• Reporting and data analysis
• Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or a regulated industrial environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of maintenance and engineering processes.
• High attention to detail and strong data governance mindset.
• Confident SAP user with ability to enforce standards and challenge incorrect usage.
• Strong stakeholder communication and training capability.
• Structured, organised working style with ability to work independently.
