A leading recruitment agency is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee automation projects across the UK. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management and engineering expertise, contributing to innovations in a dynamic Food Manufacturing environment. A competitive salary package of GBP70,000 - GBP80,000 plus a GBP5k KPI annual bonus is offered.

Job description

Recruitment is partnering with a leading Food Manufacturing company to find an exceptional Engineering Project Manager to manage the delivery, commissioning, and sign-off of automation projects across their UK sites.

Role: Engineering Project Manager Automation

Location: Doncaster, Glasgow, or Shropshire, UK (travel required)

Package: GBP70,000 - GBP80,000 (DOE) + GBP5k KPI annual bonus

Hours: Standard business hours (flexibility when required)

Your Role: You will manage and lead UK-wide automation projects, implementing best practices for project delivery and execution across the Group with delivery against KPIs. You will contribute to new business innovations and efficiencies throughout the project and processes.

What You'll Do:

  1. Prioritize management throughout projects and their life cycles
  2. Manage contractors via contractor managers and local site supervisors
  3. Manage OEMs via project managers and installation teams
  4. Report on achievement of targets and identify actions required
  5. Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, supporting continuous improvement
  6. Collaborate with Group engineering to plan and support OEM and non-OEM training
  7. Ensure H&S and quality standards are maintained throughout
  8. Maintain audits on standards throughout the project lifecycle
  9. Ensure adherence to Capital Expenditure agreements
  10. Conduct benchmarking exercises and supplier comparisons regularly
  11. Monitor project costs to prevent overspending with regular reviews
  12. Utilize group deals and trading agreements with OEMs and contractors

Who You Are:

  • Demonstrated engineering and project management expertise: HNC, HND, or Degree in Engineering principles, Prince2 or equivalent Project Management qualification, or similar
  • A strong communicator who can prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience within Food or other FMCG industries
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles with the ability to evaluate AutoCAD drawings
