Redline Group in Cambridge is seeking an Engineering Project Manager with a strong background in automation, robotics, hardware and software delivery to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex automated products. The role involves coordinating engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and field operations to support customers in the UK, Australia and the USA.

• Proven experience as an Engineering Project Manager delivering complex hardware and software projects within automation, robotics, mechatronics, or related engineering environments.
• Strong experience managing scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Solid technical understanding of integrated engineering systems and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience using Jira, Kanban boards, and project timelines to manage delivery.

Engineering Project Manager – Automation / Robotics

Are you an experienced, Cambridge based Engineering Project Manager with a strong background in automation, hardware, and software delivery? Do you want to take ownership of exciting projects within an innovative robotics company developing cutting-edge autonomous technology for real-world agricultural environments?

If so, our client is looking to hire an Engineering Project Manager based in Cambridge, leading the delivery of complex automated products across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and field operations, supporting customers in the UK, Australia, and the USA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex engineering projects, from initial planning and development through system integration, validation, manufacture, and deployment
• Develop and manage project plans covering milestones, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, and critical-path activities
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, software, embedded systems, manufacturing, and field operations
• Manage project governance, including risks, issues, change control, status reporting, stakeholder communication, and escalation.
• Work closely with technical leads to resolve blockers, prioritise defects, and ensure product safety, quality, reliability, and performance
• Oversee system integration, verification, commissioning, field trials, and the transition from engineering development into repeatable manufacture

To be successful, you should have

• Proven experience as an Engineering Project Manager delivering complex hardware and software projects within automation, robotics, mechatronics, or a related engineering environment
• Strong experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations
• A solid technical understanding of integrated engineering systems, with the ability to work effectively alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Experience using Jira, Kanban boards, and project timelines to manage engineering and software delivery
