Qualifications

We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join our successful Technical Services team. This is a Home/Site Based role.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Project and contract management of engineering departments delivery of low and zero carbon technologies including Solar PV, Heat Pumps, Biomass, CHP and District Heating Systems.
  2. Understanding what the client or company wants to achieve.
  3. Agreeing timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver a project.
  4. Drawing up a detailed plan for how to achieve each stage of a project.
  5. Negotiating with contractors and suppliers.
  6. Directing a multi-disciplinary team.
  7. Overseeing multiple projects at the same time.
  8. Ensuring that each stage of the project happens on time, on budget and to a high standard.
  9. Reporting regularly on progress to the client and stakeholders.
  10. Resolving issues and delays.
  11. Demonstrating knowledge of all areas of construction.
  12. Working in an office or on a construction site.
  13. Health and Safety management of existing and pre-commencement projects.
  14. Labour allocation across multiple projects.
  15. Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical and commercial feasibility.
  16. Ensure resource/materials availability and allocation.
  17. Develop a detailed project plan to track progress, delivery and budget.
  18. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  19. Report and escalate to management as needed.
  20. Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  21. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  22. Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the company, its products, and its client base to deliver projects.
  23. Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and external partners.
  24. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  25. Prepare reports detailing completed and remaining works for the finance team.
Experience and Qualifications

  1. GCSEs including English and Maths at least grade C or equivalent and educated to a degree level or equivalent.
  2. Qualifications relevant to project management (PRINCE 2, etc).
  3. Experience of mechanical installations or low and zero carbon heating systems (desirable).
  4. Experience working under JCT or NEC design and build contracts.
  5. Minimum 5 years project management experience.
