Job description

The post-holder is responsible for the successful implementation of a portfolio of diverse projects, including multimillion-pound major engineering projects. The post holder will act as the GSTT client, delivering first-class projects and forming essential links between all involved parties. The post holder will ensure effective programme management from inception to completion, meeting or exceeding briefs, budget control, and delivering quality outcomes. The role may involve leading an internal team supported by a multidisciplinary external team, primarily responsible for managing the overall project delivery process, ensuring compliance with governance, and establishing appropriate arrangements to achieve safety, time, cost, and quality objectives.

The Postholder

• Provide high-quality project management for engineering and backlog maintenance projects.
• Lead and manage a project delivery team comprising internal and external professionals.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and according to governance, managing the project programme through all RIBA stages.
• Lead a multidisciplinary external team and/or main contractor, ensuring compliance with governance, legal, statutory, and building regulation requirements, and managing the overall project delivery process to meet safety, time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Provide high-level engineering and technical advisory services to GSTT stakeholders.
• Contribute to and coordinate business cases, including SOC, OBC, and FBC, supporting presentations as needed.
• Proactively consider health and safety during project conception to ensure statutory compliance and best practices.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and integrate service delivery to ensure excellent customer service, meeting targets and objectives.
• Promote a zero-tolerance safety culture across the team and with suppliers to ensure compliance with legislation and a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Lead by example, embodying the Trust’s values and behaviors, and championing equality, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
