Job Description

Reporting to the Projects Group Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the evaluation, planning, and execution of Capital Project delivery of selected Waste Recovery, Chemical, Nuclear, or Energy Projects as assigned. The Project Manager shall be responsible for the Financial, Schedule, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality performance throughout the Project Life Cycle.

Stopford has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Project Manager to join the team. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, based at our office in Knutsford, with the opportunity for hybrid working. There may be occasional travel required to other offices and client sites. In return, you will receive a competitive salary.

Reporting to the Projects Group Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the evaluation, planning, and execution of Capital Project delivery of selected Waste Recovery, Chemical, Nuclear, or Energy Projects as assigned. The Project Manager shall be responsible for the Financial, Schedule, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality performance throughout the Project Life Cycle.

You must demonstrate project management skills in a multi-discipline EPC(M) environment in the waste, chemical, nuclear, or energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project development from initiation through to successful operation.
• Be accountable for project results to the project sponsor and senior management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop project execution and quality plans, outlining scope, deliverables, resources, budget, schedule, and risk profiles.
• Develop project schedules and risk registers, managing risks accordingly.
• Communicate expectations clearly to project team members and stakeholders.
• Act as mediator between stakeholders and project teams.
• Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Requirements:

• Degree level education; Chartered Engineer/Manager preferred.
• Significant experience in chemical, nuclear, oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy, or renewable energy industries.
• Experience in design, engineering, and construction in FEED and EPC(M) phases.
• Strategic thinking and long-term planning skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
• Experience managing teams of engineers, designers, inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of CDM roles and different contract forms (IChemE, NEC, FIDIC).
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships and team leadership.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full driving license.

Security Clearance: The candidate must be able to achieve and maintain at least SC level clearance.
