Engineering Programme Managers at Thought Machine are responsible for delivering complex technical programmes within the engineering division. They lead planning, coordination, and support for engineering teams to ensure programme success.

Duties
  1. Manage technical programmes: planning, setting milestones, success criteria, and coordinating multi-team, multi-month engineering efforts.
  2. Communicate schedules, priorities, and updates across all levels of the company.
  3. Support engineering teams in identifying alignment gaps and reducing overhead.
  4. Understand the product and technical details to drive programmes forward.
  5. Focus on outcomes and ensure activities support programme objectives.
  6. Collaborate with large cross-functional teams.
  7. Drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Develop tools and optimize processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Requirements
Essential
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional technical initiatives in a top-tier tech company.
  • Focus on quality, reliability, and product value, not just delivery speed.
  • Understanding of modern microservice stacks (Kubernetes, Kafka, AWS/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Problem-solving motivation and inquisitiveness.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and lead large efforts.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
  • Experience in retail banking industry.
  • Background as a software or infrastructure engineer.
