Job description

Job Description

Expleo is seeking an Engineering Parts Logistics Coordinator to join a fast-paced, cross-functional prototype delivery team within a leading UK automotive OEM. The role is part of the Product Engineering Operations (PEO) function, supporting prototype vehicle build activities across a growing portfolio of future vehicle programmes.

You will be a key member of the Prototype Vehicle Operations (PVO) team, acting as the vital link between engineering, logistics, and supplier networks to ensure the timely delivery of prototype parts to support pre-production vehicle builds.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate the delivery of Non-Released Parts (NRPs) from external suppliers to internal storage locations, ensuring delivery aligns with prototype build schedules.
  2. Build and maintain effective supplier relationships to secure accurate and timely delivery promises.
  3. Negotiate delivery and production slots (Tool Rooms, 3D printing), and transport options in line with cost and timing constraints.
  4. Input and maintain accurate delivery data within internal systems within one week of receipt.
  5. Ensure that:
  • Parts for the first build vehicle in each programme are delivered by the Material Required Date.
  • Zero build stoppages occur due to NRP delays.
  • Zero Point-of-Fit (POF) losses are recorded due to NRP delivery issues.
  • All shipping collections are timely and cost-efficient.
  • Visit key suppliers to assess and improve delivery performance and build long-term supplier capability.
  • Support export/import processes for engineering materials required for assembly or prototype components.
  • Chair supplier meetings, review part supply performance, and resolve issues affecting supply chain readiness.
  • Apply Agile working practices to overcome supply chain obstacles and drive continuous improvement.
  • Skills & Experience Required
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
    • Experience working in an automotive or prototype build environment (not essential).
    • Confident working with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and logistics.
    • Able to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
    • Capable of building strong supplier relationships and influencing external partners.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and experienced with logistics or supply chain systems (desirable).
    • Knowledge of prototype build processes and materials flow in manufacturing is advantageous.
    Education & Qualifications
    • GCSE-level education or higher.
