EDF UK is seeking an Engineering Delivery Oversight Manager to lead technical governance for the Hinkley Point C project, ensuring safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves strategic oversight, team leadership, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders to drive the future of nuclear energy in the UK.
This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.
Full-Time/Part Time available, contractual location of Gloucester Business Park & Aztec West (Bristol), 3-4 days a week in office.
Are you energized by solving complex technical challenges and leading others to deliver meaningful change? Do you thrive in high-impact environments where your decisions shape the future of clean energy in the UK? If you're passionate about innovation, collaboration, and helping Britain reach Net Zero, this is your opportunity to make a real difference on one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Europe.
At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
We're looking for an Engineering Delivery Oversight Manager to lead technical governance and oversight within our HPC Technical Directorate. You'll be at the forefront of driving risk reduction, streamlining delivery, and ensuring technical excellence across a wide range of engineering topics. Working closely with internal and external partners, you'll help shape the future of nuclear energy in the UK, ensuring HPC is ready for licensing, start-up, and long-term success.
In addition to a salary of £75,000 depending on experience, we offer flexible benefits supporting your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. These include a market-leading pension scheme, bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support, and employee discounts. We also offer enhanced parental leave, health insurance, product discounts, critical illness insurance, technology vouchers, gym memberships, and season ticket loans.
At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility and recognize individual working needs, whether in the office, on-site, or remote. Our environment promotes collaboration, connection, and comfort. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming for an equal gender balance and a broad representation of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ community, individuals with disabilities, and those supporting social mobility.
We are a disability confident employer and will assist with your application, including reasonable adjustments if needed.
We foster a dynamic, inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds and experiences drive innovation. Success means different things to different people, and we support you in pursuing a career that is meaningful to you.
You will lead the strategic oversight of engineering delivery, ensuring decisions are based on safety, quality, time, and cost. You will develop and implement a multi-year strategy supporting HPC's successful delivery through to operations.
You will chair governance forums, drive the closure of technical gaps, and ensure oversight processes are lean, agile, and effective. Your work will influence risk management, decision-making, and progress reporting across the project.
You will also lead a small team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance. Your leadership will be key in aligning stakeholders, simplifying complexities, and delivering clear technical guidance across the program.
You have a technical degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with a proven track record in leading complex engineering programs. Your ability to unite diverse stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes is vital.
You are confident managing multi-million-pound budgets and navigating technical and commercial challenges. You can switch between detailed technical discussions and strategic conversations, engaging effectively at all levels, including board and director levels.
Your broad engineering background—spanning disciplines such as mechanical, safety case, inspection, or materials—enables you to interpret and apply technical information effectively. Experience in the nuclear sector and familiarity with regulatory environments are highly valued. Fluency in English is essential; French is a bonus.
If you're interested in this role where your technical, problem-solving, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are essential, we look forward to your application!
Applications close on Sunday, 8th June, with interviews shortly after.
