Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to our cloud services. We work on challenging problems and seek talented people to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with teams across AWS to deliver safety, security, and scalable capacity at a low cost, while fostering an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key responsibilities
  • Safety: follow and maintain the highest safety standards, encourage a world-class safety culture, and own safety initiatives and projects to remediate risks/issues in collaboration with other teams.
  • Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance: operate and maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers.
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
  • Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
  • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required.
  • Ability to work shifts (morning, late, and night) and participate in on-call rotations for off-duty emergencies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in data center engineering.
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical equipment operations and maintenance (e.g., UPS, Switchgear, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhuast Fans, VFDs, Transformers).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks all day and work in environments requiring bending, twisting, or climbing and working at heights or on ladders.
  • Ability to bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working and to walk on job sites with uneven terrain.
