An established industry player is seeking passionate individuals to become Engineering Officers, taking on global challenges in Army engineering projects. This role offers the chance to develop leadership skills through world-class training at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst. As an entry-level Officer, you will command a team, manage operations, and lead expeditions while enjoying a wealth of benefits including generous leave, free medical care, and access to sports facilities. If you are ready for an adventure that combines personal growth with meaningful service, this opportunity is perfect for you.
As an Engineering Officer, you’ll be the leading expert behind Army engineering projects worldwide. Your responsibilities may include planning, leading, and managing demolitions; setting up water supplies; building runways; clearing mines; or advising friendly forces on terrain and capabilities. After your Sandhurst training, you’ll undertake the six-month Troop Commanders course, learning about reconnaissance, advising on engineering issues, and managing people and equipment. There are also opportunities to participate in the Para or Commando Course, among others.
To qualify, you must be between 17 years 9 months and 28 years 11 months. You’ll need 72 UCAS points and 35 ALIS points at GCSE, including at least grade C/4 in English, Maths, and a science or foreign language, and pass a basic fitness test.
As an entry-level Officer, you’ll begin your career with management responsibilities, commanding a team of soldiers. No prior experience is necessary; through world-class training at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst, you’ll develop leadership skills and qualifications to motivate and support your team.
Beyond Sandhurst, continuous learning and growth are integral to being an Officer. Your role offers a global adventure—leading expeditions, managing operations abroad, or delivering humanitarian aid to communities in need.
You’ll also enjoy benefits such as 38 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays and extra leave after operations), free medical and dental care, reduced living costs, and free access to gym and sports facilities. Typically, your work hours will be 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, unless you are away on operations or training exercises.
