Job summary

Train’d Up is seeking a qualified Engineering NVQ Assessor to join our growing engineering delivery team in the West Midlands. You’ll work closely with apprentices and employers, providing assessment, coaching and encouragement that turns workplace experience into recognised achievement.

Supporting apprentices across Level 2, 3 and 4 engineering programmes, you’ll guide learners from induction through to readiness for end-point assessment, mixing employer-site visits with remote support and

Qualifications

• Recognised assessor qualification(s) as listed.
• Engineering qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Experience assessing engineering apprentices or vocational learners.
• Willingness to pursue further teaching qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess practical engineering skills and portfolio evidence with clear feedback.
• Coach apprentices to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours per the apprenticeship standard.
• Carry out regular progress reviews with learners and employers with clear actions.
• Identify learning needs early and provide tailored support to maintain engagement and progress.
• Prepare apprentices for gateway and end-point assessment, including mock assessments.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and learner portfolios meeting funding and quality requirements.
• Work with colleagues on standardisation and quality improvements to learning materials.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and safe working practices throughout the learner journey.
