You MUST have the following:

  • Good experience as a Development/Software Engineering Manager
  • Strong management experience- inheriting teams, raising standards and performance
  • Strategy to align with the needs of the business
  • Excellent design and architecture ability
  • .NET
  • JavaScript
  • Azure, AWS or GCP

Role: Engineering Manager (Software Development Engineer Management Head of Agile Architecture .NET JavaScript TypeScript Azure GCP AWS AI Automation Finance Financial Services Developer Programmer) required by our financial client in Brighton. You will inherit a team of 8 software engineers and lead them on a journey to move the environment to Azure, create a secure engineering space for them to work within, implement new standards and best practices, implement the use of AI for the business and software engineering and work with the CTO to acquire new SaaS products to help modernize the business. After this, the aim will be to create a core platform for the business upon which the team can build new modules and functions in a 'plug in and play' style, delivering rapid solutions to the business. These functions will be based around loans- their origination and servicing.

You will be an experienced manager and be comfortable in demonstrating examples of inheriting and improving teams as part of the interview process. You will also be able to show examples of technical modernization and transformation.

You will still be technical and hands-on- capable of generating POC's, leading design and architecture and acting as an escalation point and mentor for members of the team. Your technical ability will cover .NET, cloud (Azure, GCP or AWS), JavaScript, TypeScript and an understanding of AI, even if just from home projects. Finance is not required.

The timeframe for achieving this is around 18 months. You will work closely with the CTO on strategy, hiring and the evolution of the team, lining up a roadmap that aligns with the business strategy for the next 3-5 years.

It will be a hybrid working setup. 3 days/week will be required to begin with. After this, there will be more flexibility.
