Job Title: Engineering Manager – Site Authority Engineering

Location: Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £58,000+ depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Create through life asset management plans defining fit for purpose maintenance strategies & prioritised investment demands to enable the site assets to deliver the site strategic objectives
  • Provide independent Engineering Authority across external BAE Systems Site & Facilities Assets on behalf of Subs Engineering Director to ensure safe legal and compliant assets and facilities
  • Provide technical engineering advice & support to the maintenance, operations & project teams
  • Produce/approve engineering functional requirements, accept design solution, maintain engineering oversight, validate engineering integrity, protect & maintain engineering baseline for all projects on Site & Facilities assets

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree in Engineering and Chartered membership of professional body (or relevant experience or working towards chartership)
  • Previous experience of working in and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Broad engineering background with good understanding of key legal obligations for managing large manufacturing facilities & assets

Desirable:

  • Experience in large asset intensive company
  • Demonstrable experience of developing asset strategies to drive improved asset performance
  • Working in highly regulated industries such as Oil & Gas/Rail/Aerospace/Nuclear

The External Engineering Authority Team:

As the Engineering Manager you will be reporting to the Principal Engineering Manager – Site Engineering Authority.You will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver the role of Engineering Authority ensuring the assets within the area of responsibility are safe, legal and compliant as well as acting as the Asset Manager developing the strategies to ensure that the assets are managed effectively to meet current and future operational demands. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
