Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of a major capital cable infrastructure project. You will provide technical leadership across land and subsea systems from design through commissioning, while coordinating with project, construction, commercial and contractor teams.

This is an office-based role with regular travel to project sites in the north of Scotland and the Western Isles; you will manage technical risk, governance and interfaces

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Significant engineering management experience on large-scale capital infrastructure projects.
• Experience operating within client, contractor or major project delivery environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to articulate complex technical matters to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering management across detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Manage governance, design assurance, and engineering risk and change control processes.
• Coordinate interfaces across multiple disciplines and project teams to align decisions and manage risks.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team and foster a strong engineering culture.
• Promote safety, quality and technical assurance across construction and commissioning.
