Job summary

SSE is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager based in Scotland to lead the delivery of a major capital cable infrastructure project. You will oversee engineering across design, construction and commissioning, coordinating interfaces and teams while ensuring governance and safety standards are maintained.

The role is primarily office-based with regular site travel across the north of Scotland and Western Isles, offering a competitive package including car allowance and bonus.

Qualifications

• Engineering management experience on large-scale capital infrastructure projects.
• Experience in client/contractor/major project delivery environments.
• Strong knowledge of governance, design assurance, risk management and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering management across detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Manage governance, design assurance, risk and change control per SSEN standards.
• Coordinate interfaces across multiple disciplines and project teams.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team and foster strong technical culture.
• Promote safety, quality and technical assurance, supporting CDM requirements.
