Job Description:

Job Title: Engineering Manager – Product Safety

Location: Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage a team of safety engineers responsible for safety case activities across submarine projects including Dreadnought class, SSN AUKUS, and Astute.
  • Conduct activities to ensure submarines are resilient to hazards like fires, explosions, floods, and steam releases.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to manage and reduce risks through good design.
  • Ensure the team has appropriate size, skills, and experience to meet program demands and support major milestones.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in high hazard industries such as Defence, Oil & Gas, Rail, etc.
  • Skills in safety case development and engineering.
  • Previous engineering management experience.
  • Capability management and program/engineering delivery skills.
