Job description

Engineering Manager - Nuclear Facility and Equipment Upgrades

Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: circa £65,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your working pattern on your application.

Let us introduce the role

As a key member of the Design Engineering Team, the Engineering Manager will have responsibility for carrying out the technical task management and stewardship of multi-disciplinary directorate and consultancy resources to provide solutions that meet AWE and other stakeholder requirements for upgrades to nuclear equipment and facilities.

Who are we looking for?

We'd love to hear from engineers with a recognised, relevant qualification (HND/Degree/Engineering Chartership) with the ability to work across functions, providing a supportive interface between the Facility, Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Authorities.

Minimum requirements
  • HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical background
  • Experience designing complex systems in hazardous or critical environments such as explosive atmospheres, close environmental control, chemical atmospheres, clean rooms, and laboratories
