Job summary

Motorola Solutions UK Limited in Glasgow is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of about eight software engineers across senior and junior levels. You will grow, motivate and guide the team, balancing business objectives with technical excellence to deliver high‑quality, scalable software for UK police applications.

You’ll partner with Product Managers to define roadmaps, manage sprints, and drive architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Must have NPPV3 clearance with 3+ years UK residency
• Relevant degree such as BSc Computing Science or BSc Software Engineering
• 7+ years in commercial software engineering
• Full stack experience across frontend and backend
• Strong knowledge of design patterns for scalable software
• Experience architecting server/gateway and client/server apps
• Experience architecting mobile smartphone apps
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~8 software engineers across levels
• Bridge business objectives and technical execution
• Define roadmaps with Product Managers and manage sprints
• Participate in design reviews and ensure scalable architecture
• Recruit and foster a culture of psychological safety
• Drive delivery of high‑quality, scalable software
