Job description

Description

This role will form part of the Client Account delivery team and will be based in the Manchester Office.

Requirements
  • Must have experience in developing and managing people, including remote management, preferably gained within an IT Services Organisation.
  • As a client facing role, must be able to project gravitas based on engineering/SME excellence and experience and be able to respond effectively to client escalations.
  • Demonstrably able to build deep client relationships and trust.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Ability to motivate staff and build communities.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Must be numerate, with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Effective organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Must possess commercial and financial awareness.
Job responsibilities
People Management (Essential)
  • Responsible for all people management activities from onboarding and induction to exit in line with staff policies and procedures and client controls.
  • Ensure regular 1-to-1 engagements and quarterly reviews in line with personal development plans.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff at both an individual and group level where appropriate.
  • Work to ensure team skills and capacity match current and future demand.
  • Track attrition trends and escalate accordingly.
  • Ensure all professional qualifications are current and aligned to the account strategy.
  • Manage the wellbeing of all people.
  • Monitor staff satisfaction scores, respond as appropriate, and manage trends.
  • Develop and own the local staff engagement plan alongside the Client Services Lead.
  • Liaise with UK & Global Practice leaders to ensure development paths are open for staff in both directions, and to have an active skills crossover plan.
  • Handle employee internal administration (PES, timesheets, profiles).
  • Ensure understanding of the account strategy and direction, and articulate this to staff to enable training, education, and skills development to meet current and future requirements.
  • Liaise with nearshore and offshore Engineering Managers regarding skills and resource plans supporting the account development plan.
  • Organise and budget for team social events as required.
Engineering Experience (Desirable)
  • A strong background in one or more disciplines — Cloud, DevOps, Development — with understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate an account-level engineering vision for a globally integrated team and lead from within teams when necessary.
  • History of owning and driving teams across engineering excellence initiatives.
  • Ability to lead and execute engineering teams with hands-on experience in one of the disciplines.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with various development and testing methodologies.
  • Expertise in all phases of SDLC including development, automation, testing, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
Technical Insight
  • Experience rooted in core engineering disciplines demonstrable within a client environment.
