WeDo is seeking a Platform/DevOps Leader to orchestrate a growing, cross-functional delivery effort in a remote-first environment with occasional UK office visits. You will align Product, Tech and QA, manage capacity and budgets, and drive the roadmap for a greenfield SaaS platform.
Lead a Platform/DevOps team of six and collaborate with architects and a Lead Platform Engineer, shaping delivery strategy, risk controls and stakeholder communications across two merged business units.
Remote/Hybrid: Remote (very occasional office visit (once every 2 months) - need to be UK based)
Industry: Access Management Solutions
What does the client do?
Access Management Systems/SaaS/Smart Storage
Size/shape of team?
Conglomerate Global business. You will be working with two business units who have merged. Platform/Devops team of 6. You will manage the team whilst corrdinating heavily with the wider business - Product/Software/QA.
The Stack?
Multi-cloud, predom. Azure, C#/.Net application layer. Terraform/K8s/AI. This is not a hands-on position and is very much choreographing delivery.
The Role?
There is a Platform Greenfield project which will be at the forefront of your focus. An MVP pencilled for Q4 2027. This will be a full SaaS based solution. There are several Architects and a Lead Platform Engineer incoming. Although you will support ongoing platform discussions, you will be very much focussing on project planning, capacity management, Product<>Tech alignment, team growth, budget controls etc.
The Stuff not on the JD?
There is a lot of complexity with the ongoing product base - IoT, Security, Connectivity etc. Although this wont directly fall within your immediate remit, navigating discussions with a relatively ad-hoc Product/Programme team will be a necessity. There is a lot of transformation and excellent stakeholder management skills are required.
Process?
2 stages. Chat with Head of R&D and then wider team. Can turn around in two weeks...
Remote. Very occasional visit to office in Northampton.
