Job summary

Carmichael is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join a major project based in Cumbria. You will lead engineering teams to implement robust processes and ensure delivery across design, construction, commissioning and handover.

In this role you will provide technical guidance to the sector leader and clients, manage design managers, review procedures to reflect current codes and best practice, and promote new engineering developments in both permanent and temporary works throughout

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineering processes and procedures are implemented across projects.
• Provide the lead assurance role in design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical advice and input into sector bids and submissions.
• Line manage all design managers working on projects.
• Review internal procedures to reflect latest codes, standards and best practice.
• Promote latest engineering developments, technology and methods in permanent and temporary works at bid stage and during construction.
• Carry out additional duties consistent with seniority as required.
• Maintain safety, quality and environmental standards and challenge poor practice.
• Work with TSD to ensure best practice in procedures, method statements and inspection/test plans.
• Promote the company to clients, designers and external organisations.
• Maintain contacts with Consultants, Clients and other bodies to demonstrate best value.
