Job summary

Sony Music Entertainment is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Data Operations team to lead and scale data products. You will nurture a high-performance, agile team of full-stack engineers, collaborating with Directors and product to align technical work with business strategy.

You will mentor engineers, conduct regular 1:1s, review contributions, and drive platform improvements while exploring new technologies to keep our data platforms robust and scalable.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in an engineering management role.
• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software products.
• 5+ years in a scripting language (Python, PHP, JavaScript, etc.).
• Experience in agile teams and code reviews.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a high-performance agile development team balancing executing new features while maintaining our existing system health.
• Manage a team of full-stack engineers to deliver internal platforms.
• Hold regular 1:1s, mentor engineers, and work with contractors.
• Work with Directors to drive engineering vision.

Sony Music’s Product Design Engineering and Global Operations (PDEGO) Team is looking for an Engineering Manager for our Data Operations team to lead and scale our data product space.

What you'll do:

• Cultivate a high-performance agile development team balancing executing new features while maintaining our existing system health.

Who you are:

• Has experience working in an agile team
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Experience reviewing code changes
• Strong organizational and analytical skills paired with the ability to drive complex projects
• Interested in music and in learning the intricacies of the music business
• Able to influence cross-functional teams and create a consensus between engineering teams
• Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Experience with React/frontend JS is a plus
• 2+ years in an engineering management role
• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex software products
• 5+ years in a scripting language such as Python, PHP, JavaScript, etc.
