Overview

Binnies, an RSK Group company, is looking for Senior and Principal Engineers to work within our Consultancy team on water projects. We are seeking applicants with a range of experience from recently Incorporated/Chartered up to Principal level. As a Senior or Principal Engineer, you will have the opportunity to use your experience of multi-disciplinary projects from concept, through outline and detailed design and construction, to lead teams in the delivery of consultancy projects. You will have the opportunity to be part of the Water Utilities team working primarily in the West of England and Wales region. Binnies treats each professional as an individual and will provide all relevant training, development and support so that you may further your engineering career. We are a diverse and energetic team and you will play a key role in contributing to our team’s continuing growth and success.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering and/or multi-disciplinary teams and support and mentor more junior engineers.
• Create feasibility studies, outlines and detailed designs for a variety of multi-disciplinary water utilities projects.
• Produce calculations and reports to support designs.
• Work directly with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions.
• Produce business cases and proposals to enable clients to fund projects.
• Work with construction partners to improve safety of designs and understand and improve construction processes.
• Ensure designs consider buildability, sustainability, health & safety and environmental requirements.

About You

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with a relevant institution.
• Previous experience in the water sector is not essential; transferable technical skills to an engineering manager role in the water sector are valued.
• Desire to support and mentor more junior engineers toward Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Self-motivated and effective team player.
• A drive to deliver sustainable solutions in the water and environment industries.
