Engineering Manager

T2M Resourcing are currently working alongside a global manufacturing business who specialise in the production of metal components for a variety of sectors helping them recruit an Engineering Manager.

As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and delivering the Engineering Strategy for the businesses plant including its staffing, equipment upkeep, associated budgets, overall facilities, its capabilities, and its user’s skill sets.

What will you be doing?

As Engineering Manager key responsibilities will include:

• Develop an effective Planned Predictive Maintenance (PPM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program to ensure machine reliability and availability.
• Continuously evaluate and evolve a structure within the Engineering department that meets or exceeds the needs of the Plant / business.
• The development of KPI’s and delivering measurable improvements in the effectiveness of the Engineering team.
• Taking a lead on CAPEX projects up to £1m within department in partnership with PMO.
• Oversee succession planning of the Engineering team, ensuring skills and qualifications are achieved in line with ongoing and new system requirements.

What are we looking for?

To be successful as Engineering Manager, you will have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience in a similar position with functional responsibility for engineering within a relevant business (heavy industry / manufacturing sector) essential.
• Budgetary responsibility with experience in delivering Engineering CAPEX projects.
• A confident communicator and leader – experience in leading and managing people essential.
• A problem solver with the ability to meet requirements within strict timescales.

Please note: Based at the businesses main UK site near to Swansea, this role will provide the opportunity to take ownership of the Engineering strategy of a manufacturing business renowned for supplying quality products into the aerospace, defence and industrial markets.

A salary of £75,000 has initially been budgeted for the role depending on experience level, with the package also including a car allowance, bonus, private medical plan (covering family), and a good holiday allowance.
