About The Role Join Our Dynamic Onsite Engineering Team at IPL Sittingbourne !

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Manager to become a vital part of our onsite Engineering Team at our largest Produce site in Sittingbourne. If you are passionate about Operations/Engineering and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!

Position Details

• Schedule: Monday - Friday (08:30am - 17:00pm) Days
• Location: IPL, Sittingbourne - Site Based
• Contract Type: Permanent
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engineering projects on time and within budget, aligned to operational goals.
• Oversee planned maintenance, statutory inspections, and documentation for fresh produce facilities.
• Ensure refrigeration, fire safety, and plant infrastructure meet regulatory and internal standards.
• Integrate HACCP and food safety protocols into all engineering activities.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for breakdowns.
• Manage budgets, contracts, and supplier performance.
• Provide technical reporting to senior leadership.
• Drive training and competency development in H&S and food safety.
• Champion continuous improvement across engineering operations.
  
  

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a proactive and experienced individual with the following:

• Technical qualification in Engineering (Degree, HNC/HND) with relevant industry experience
• Proven leadership in FMCG environments, ideally fresh produce
• Experience managing skilled engineering teams, setting standards, and coordinating resources
• Strong understanding of HSE legislation, risk assessments, and statutory compliance
• Working knowledge of PLC systems and automation
• Proficient in IT systems with awareness of emerging technologies
• Decisive under pressure with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
