Job summary

MTS Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop engineering and planning teams in a fast-paced technical environment. The role requires strong project management, hands-on technical leadership and delivery of complex projects.

The position is on-site in Harlow, with a salary range of £45,000 to £50,000 and standard working hours. You will drive engineering strategy, governance and continuous improvement while mentoring engineers and collaborating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent management experience
• Minimum five years' engineering experience
• At least two years' leadership/management experience
• Proven experience delivering complex engineering projects
• Strong technical and hands-on engineering background
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving with focus on quality and efficiency
• Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced environment

Working hours:
Mon - Thurs: 0730 to 1600
Friday: 0730 to 1230

We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop engineering and planning teams within a fast-paced technical environment. This position would suit an established engineering leader with strong project management capabilities, hands-on technical knowledge and experience delivering complex engineering projects.

The Role

• Lead, mentor and develop the engineering and planning teams
• Oversee engineering projects from initial planning through to successful delivery
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed quality, budget and timescale requirements
• Allocate resources and prioritise workloads effectively
• Work closely with Planning, Quality and senior management
• Drive technical decision-making and promote engineering best practices
• Identify production bottlenecks and improve engineering processes
• Provide regular updates regarding project progress, risks and key milestones
• Ensure engineering output complies with relevant regulatory and industry standards
• Manage approved technical data and publications
• Support the recruitment, onboarding and retention of engineering personnel

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or at least five years' equivalent industry experience at management level
• Minimum five years' engineering experience
• At least two years' experience in an engineering leadership or management position
• Previous experience within a Part 145 organisation would be highly advantageous
• Proven experience managing and delivering complex engineering projects
• Strong technical and hands-on engineering background
• Ability to confidently read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality, efficiency and innovation
• Comfortable working on-site within a fast-paced engineering environment
